The Clonmel High School Senior rugby team continued their preparation for their upcoming Bowen Shield quarter-final with a friendly against Glenstal Abbey on the High School’s 4G pitch.
The match was played in lovely spring sunshine and both sides had a bounce in their step.
Glenstal showed their skill with an impressive first half performance, scoring four tries.
The High School scored a try following good pressure from an attacking lineout. Captain Luke Slattery used his power to touch down, ably supported by Sean Wall, Naoise Roche and Peter Perry.
Jack O’Brien kicked a fine conversion to leave the half-time score 22-7.

In the second half, Glenstal dominated for large periods but the High School defended well.
The Limerick School added two more tries before High School’s Matthew Ryan scored a good try following sustained pressure.
O’Brien kicked the conversion to end the match 34-14 in favour of Glenstal.
This was a good challenge that will serve the Clonmel boys well in their upcoming Bowen Shield match.
