Tipperary students showcase their winning design at Cannes Film Festival

Students from Presentation Secondary School Clonmel rubbed shoulders with the fashion elite in Cannes last week during a showcase for Junk Kouture national competition winners. 

Teacher Claire Murphy, along with students Kyara Connolly, Alanna Gilbert and Sarah Ni Cheallaigh from Presentation Clonmel were among the winning entries in the recent Bank of Ireland Junk Kouture Final at the 3Arena earning themselves the opportunity to showcase their creations at the Cannes Film Festival in France.

Their winning design was made from internal parts of a piano to highlight how 'beauty comes from within' using around 400 pieces for the whole dress.

During their trip, the talented designers got the opportunity to enjoy dinner in Monaco and a helicopter ride from Nice across the Cotes D'Azur. The night also included a walking tour of Monte Carlo and a photo opportunity inside the foyer of one of it’s famous casinos.
