GAA President to officially open Carrick Swan GAA Club's new playing grounds this weekend

Carrick Swan GAA Club’s new playing grounds Páirc na nEalaí will be officially opened by GAA President Larry McCarthy this weekend.

The weekend of celebrations begins on Friday evening with a Mass celebrated by Bishop of Waterford and Lismore, Most Rev Alphonsus Cullinan.

All the club’s juveniles will be involved in a juvenile blitz on Saturday and the official opening ceremony will be carried out by the GAA President on Sunday.

Full details of all the activities are available on the Swan Club’s social media pages. All are welcome to attend.

To add to the occasion, this weekend’s County League fixtures are being played at Páirc na nEalaí. First up on Saturday, the

Swan Juniors take on Cappawhite at 5pm. Then on Sunday at 2pm, the Swan Premier Intermediate team will play Portroe.

The Junior B camogie team also have a match this weekend. They play Clonoulty/Rossmore on Saturday at 7pm.

Juvenile teams update

The Under 17A hurlers beat Killenaule in their first game of the County League.

The Under 15B footballers beat Ballingarry in the last game of the group stages and await a knockout fixture.

The Under 13D footballers play Ardfinnan in the South semi-final this Wednesday at 7pm. Venue to be confirmed.

Meanwhile, the Under 7s travelled to Rockwell for a blitz last Saturday. A great morning was had by all and there will be more to come over the next few months.

The Swan Club hosted an Under 8 camogie blitz in Páirc na nEalaí last Saturday morning. Mullinahone and St Mary’s took part.

The girls gave a great account of themselves.

JUVENILE LOTTO
The Juvenile lotto jackpot this week will be €3,000. Last week’s numbers were 2,6,10,13. Ten players with Match 3 s won €20 each.

SYMPATHY
The Swan Club extends condolences to the O’Loughlin family of Seskin on their recent bereavement.
