Olympian Sharlene Mawdsley has been announced as the Person of the Year 2024 by the Tipperary Association Dublin.
The President of the Tipperary Association Dublin, Tom Sherlock, has announced the much anticipated Association’s Annual Awards for 2024 which is also the 90th anniversary of the Association. The Awards will be presented at a lunch function on Saturday 23 November to mark the 90 years of the Association.
A native of Newport, Sharlene has been involved in athletics, representing Ireland at the highest level for a number of years and has been consistently highly placed whenever she competed.

The Tipperary Association Dublin said "It was in 2024, however, that Sharlene showed her full potential. This year she has won a Bronze Medal in the World Mixed 4 x400 metres relay, a Silver Medal in the European Women's 4 x 400 metres relay, and a Gold medal in the European Mixed 4 x 400 metres relay. In the recent Olympics Sharlene had 5 appearances on the track. Sharlene Mawdsley is a very worthy Tipperary Association Dublin Person of the Year for 2024”
