Carrick-on-Suir GAA club members hosted coffee morning in aid of wheelchair sports

Carrick Swan GAA Club drew with Limerick hurling county champions Doon in a challenge match at Pairc na nÉalái last Saturday.

The Junior A hurlers played Gortnahoe in the County League against but were beaten by five points. They face Ballingarry in the semi-final in Cloneen at 3pm on May 25.

The Junior B camogie team play in the League Final on Saturday, May 24 at 6 pm in The Ragg. Opposition to be confirmed.

The team are unbeaten in their League campaign.

The Under 12 girls were defeated by Fethard in a very competitive game on The Green on Monday evening.

Meanwhile, the Under 17 hurlers were defeated by Nenagh in their last County League game.

The Under 15 A footballers defeated Mullinahone in the County Shield Final while the Under 13B footballers beat Grangemockler/Ballyneale in the County Shield and will play Fr Sheehys in the semi-final.

Blitz

The Swan Club welcomed 150 Junior Infants, Senior Infants and 1st class pupils last week to Pairc na nEalaí for a wonderful hurling blitz where all the kids got to play games and matches. Some refreshments were laid on afterwards. This event followed six weeks of coaching the Club did with these young children.

Coffee morning

A coffee morning in aid of Wheel Ability Power Chair Strikers was hosted by the Club in the Juvenile Hall last Saturday. The event raised €850 in addition to €400 the camogie players donated.

Black and White in Blue and Gold

The Swan Club’s Ryan Walsh lined out for Tipperary Senior hurling team in their match against Waterford Semple Stadium on Sunday.

Swan players Aaron O’Halloran, Callum Lanigan and Stefan Tobin were members of the Tipperary Under 20 team that retained their Munster title last Wednesday, May 30.
