IN PICTURES: Big turnout for the annual Christmas Swim in Tipperary

The annual Christmas swim in aid of the North Tipperary Hospice and Templemore Community Services and once again proved very popular as great numbers turned out in force to support the brave swimmers.

The weather Gods behaved themselves as the sun shone on a bright morning.

Temperatures were quite low however and those brave enough to take the plunge were glad of a towel and a hot drink when they emerged from the freezing water.

Great credit is due to each and everyone of them and it was heartwarming to see the youngsters getting involved this year.

Perhaps they’ll keep the old tradition going for many years to come.

The organisers would like to thank all those who supported the event and the Thomas McDonagh Pipe Band for keeping the crowd entertained with some festive tunes.
