Tipperary people treated to night of music in local church as part of Easter celebrations

On Friday April 11, Drom church came alive with the sound of music and song.

On a bright sunny evening, the choirs from Loughmore Castleiney, Drom, Borrisoleigh, Templemore, Clonmore, and Killea all came together for a Lenten Night of Sacred Song.

This venture is in its second year and was the brainchild of the Joint Pastoral Team of all the parishes involved.

The choirs build positive relationships, goodwill, and the sharing of gifts of music and song that are so much part of the liturgical life of each parish.

They also share resources and create a support network that encourages singing and music from all ages in each choir.

On the night, each choir performed many well known hymns and songs and then all choirs came together at the end of the night to lift the roof of Drom church with the traditional hymn The Old Rugged Cross with approximately 100 singers in unison.

Teas and refreshments were enjoyed afterwards by all out on the beautiful bright summer's evening.
