Semple Stadium
Should Clare or Waterford find themselves in the Munster senior hurling final this year, the final will be hosted in Thurles by FBD Semple Stadium following a decision of the Munster Council this week.
The decision made with regard to venues for future Finals in the Munster Senior Hurling Championship sees a rota being put in place for finals involving Clare and/or Waterford with the stipulation that these games must be played at a neutral venue.
The rota will begin in 2024 starting with FBD Semple Stadium followed by Supervalu Páirc Uí Chaoimh and then the TUS Gaelic Grounds.
Cork, Limerick and Tipperary will continue with their existing home and away agreements should any two of those counties qualify for the Munster Hurling Final.
The final is fixed for June 9th and the Cathedral Town has more than a six out of ten fighting chance of being the host town for the big day. All other permutations apart from Clare vs Tipp; Cork vs Tipp and Tipp vs Waterford will be staged in FBD Semple Stadium. The only possibility of a final featuring Tipperary being played in Semple Stadium would be Tipp vs Limerick.
