Tipperary projects to benefit from €3 million forest park funding

Glengara Woods near Cahir and Marl Bog near Dundrum included in funding

Coillte, Ireland’s semi-state forestry company, has announced €3 million in funding from the Department of Rural and Community Development. The funding will support the development and enhancement of forest parks and recreation areas, walking trails and outdoor activities across rural Ireland. 

Two Tipperary projects are included as part of this funding, they are Glengara Woods near Cahir and Marl Bog near Dundrum.

€40,000 has been allocated for Car Park improvement works in the Marl Bog and a further €12,000 has been allocated for a new footbridge for walking trail users in Glengarra woods.

Nearly €42,000 has also been allocated for general maintenance works across recreational areas throughout the county.
