REVEALED: Easter Mass times for one of Tipperary's biggest parishes unveiled

The Mass schedule for Thurles over the Easter period has been revealed.

Services will be held every day from Tuesday, April 15, to Sunday, April 20.

On Tuesday, April 15, confessions will be held in Bóthar na Naomh church from 6pm to 7pm, as well as after Mass if necessary.

Daily Mass will be held in the Cathedral of the Assumption at 11am on Wednesday, April 16, with Chrism Mass taking place at 7pm the same day, also in the Cathedral.

There will be no 11am Mass on Thursday, April 17, as instead there will be Mass of the Lord’s Supper held in the Cathedral at 7pm.

This service will be a family Mass, set to include First Communion children and their families.

At 8pm, Pallottine Chapel will also host a Mass of the Lord’s Supper, and at 9pm, Bóthar na Naomh Church will host Prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane.

On Good Friday, April 18, Children’s Story of Easter will take place at 11am in Bóthar na Naomh.

At 3pm, The Lord’s Passion will be held in both the Cathedral and the Pallottine Chapel.

Stations of the Cross will take place in Bóthar na Naomh at 7pm, before Prayer around the Cross in the Cathedral at 9pm.

Liturgy of Blessing of Bread will be hosted for the Polish community at 11:30am in the Cathedral on Holy Saturday, April 19, before a Ukrainian Blessing for Easter service at 1pm in Bóthar na Naomh.

This will be followed by confessions from 2pm to 5pm in the Cathedral.

At 7pm, an Easter Vigil will be hosted in the Cathedral, with the plan being to begin the service outside, subject to the weather conditions.

An Easter Vigil will then be held at the Pallottine Chapel at 8pm.

On Easter Sunday, April 20, Dawn Mass will be held at 6am at the Killinan Cemetery, with a Polish mass to be held at 9:30am in the Presentation Convent, Thurles.

Easter Sunday Masses in Thurles will be held at 9:30am in Bóthar na Naomh, 10am in the Pallottine Chapel, and 11am in the Cathedral.

There will be no 7pm Masses held in Bóthar na Naomh on Sunday, April 20, Tuesday, April 22, and Thursday, April 24.

There will also be no Eucharistic Adoration held on either Good Friday or Holy Saturday.

The Holy Places Collection will take place on Good Friday, with envelopes available at the back of both churches.
