A café in the new Market Quarter in Thurles is aiming to open by the end of this year.
The matter was discussed during the September meeting of the Thurles Municipal District of the Tipperary County Council.
Cllr Kay Cahill Skehan enquired to the district engineers about an update regarding the site.
The Market Quarter development will total a cost of over €3 million, with the intention of creating a new community space located behind the Source Arts Centre.

Also during the meeting, Cllr Cahill Skehan mentioned that she felt as though the new two-hour parking limits that have been installed in both the Slievenamon Road and Parnell Street car parks have proven to be effective, and enquired as to what the latest update was regarding future extensions of the car parks.
The district engineers responded that the matter was currently with their legal team, and that any possible extensions will not happen until 2026.
