Fundraiser concert in aid of Tipperary charity to take place this month

Ceola will be raising funds for Suir Haven
Ceola, a five-piece vocal and instrumental group from the Thurles area, will host a charity concert on September 19, with all proceeds going directly to Suir Haven Cancer Support Centre.
Suir Haven, based in Clongour, Thurles, provides emotional support to people dealing with a cancer diagnosis, as well as to their carers and families.
Formed in 2019 by musical director Geraldine Delaney, Ceola has performed at a number of local events, including two Culture Night performances at St Patrick’s College and a concert at Boherlahan Parish Church last December, which raised €2,100 for Children’s Health
Ireland.
The group hopes to build on that success with this year’s event, which is expected to be its biggest concert to date.
Audiences can look forward to a varied programme of music, with harmonies at the heart of Ceola’s distinctive sound.
The concert will feature songs from artists including The Eagles, ABBA and The Dixie Chicks, among others. A raffle with a selection of prizes will also take place on the night.
Ceola members Maria McElgunn, Rosalie Butler, Jenny O’Dwyer, Susan O’Dwyer and Geraldine Delaney have been busy rehearsing over the summer months with their backing band and are looking forward to presenting an enjoyable evening of music in support of a valued local cause.
Tickets are priced at €20 and are currently available from Bookworm, Thurles.
The public is warmly encouraged to attend and support this worthy event, helping to raise vital funds for Suir Haven Cancer Support Centre.
