Tipperary Pool swimmer wins six European Masters gold medals in Helsinki

Emly-based Masters swimmer Claire O’Connell sensationally won six European gold medals at the European Masters Swimming Championships in Finland last weekend.
Claire broke the Irish 100 metres Masters Breaststroke record and won gold in the process on Friday. On Saturday, Claire also claimed gold in the 50 metres and the 200 metres Breaststroke and on Sunday she won gold in the 200 Individual Medley, the 4x50 metres freestyle and the 4 x 50 metres Individual Medley.
Claire, who is originally from Kerry but now lives in Emly, trains at the Sean Treacy Memorial Swimming Pool in Tipperary. She swims out of the Kingdom Masters Club in Kerry.
Congratulations Claire on your magnificent achievement in bringing six European gold medals home to your adopted little town of Emly.
