A house fire in Tipperary Town on Friday night resulted in the death of a local woman.
Gardaí and emergency services were called to the scene of the fire at a house at Dillon Street, at approximately 8:30pm, and the body of a woman in her 50s was discovered at the property.

The lady was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her body was removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Waterford, where a post mortem will be carried out.
The house is preserved for the carrying out of technical examinations and investigations are ongoing.
Residents in the area have expressed deep shock at the news of the death of the resident.
