A commemorative event will take place this Sunday April 5 in Tipperary Town, in honour of the 1916 Easter Rising, remembering the brave individuals who fought for Ireland’s independence.

The Third Tipperary Brigade Old IRA Commemoration Committee will hold its annual 1916 Easter Rising commemoration at the Republican Plot in St Michael’s Cemetery, Tipperary Town at 12:15pm today on Sunday April 5.

Attendees will hear from guest speaker Tom O’Neill, a respected historian and author from Midleton, County Cork.

Organisers emphasize that the event is non-political and open to all.
