Monday: Rather cloudy but mostly dry with a few sunny spells in the east. A little rain will drift in over western counties, becoming more persistent later this afternoon and slowly spreading east. Highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees with fresh southerly winds.
Monday night: Wet and breezy at first with rain bringing some spot flooding, clearing to scattered showers from Atlantic areas by morning. Fresh and gusty southerly winds will ease mostly light to moderate from the west through the night though will continue fresh in the east till the morning. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees.
Tuesday: The rain will clear eastwards through the morning with sunshine and scattered showers following. Some of the showers will be of hail or sleet, especially in the north and west. Highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees with moderate, occasionally fresh southwest or west winds.
OVERVIEW: Mostly dry and settled for the rest of the working week. Chilly during the nights. Some rain next weekend.
Tuesday night: Becoming mostly dry with long clear spells as showers become isolated early in the night and become mostly confined to Atlantic coasts. Lowest temperatures of -1 to +3 degrees with some frost and ice forming in light to moderate southwest breezes.
Wednesday: Mostly dry with good spells of sunshine and just a few light showers possible near western and northwestern coasts. Highest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees in light, occasionally moderate southwesterly breezes.
Wednesday night: A dry, clear and cold night. Lowest temperatures of -2 to +2 degrees in light southerly breezes.
Thursday: Largely dry and sunny though it may turn cloudier for a time in the southwest with the chance of some patchy light rain or drizzle. Highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees in mostly moderate, occasionally fresh southeasterly winds.
Friday: Another mostly dry day with spells of sunshine though cloud may gradually build from the west. Highest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees in light to moderate southeasterly breezes.
Next Weekend: Some uncertainty as rain may encroach from the west at some stage but overall, plenty of dry weather is still signalled.
