Cahir Meet and Train have a busy weekend ahead with the Santa Run!
This year proceeds go to the Cahir Day Care Centre and registration is in Centre from 10am this Saturday, December 9. Entry is just €5 or €10 per family.
The starting point for the 5km is out near the Coláiste on the Cashel Road, we run through the town and out the Ardfinnan Road turning right into the Swiss Cottage and back to the finish line at the Dovecote behind Cahir House Hotel.
All runners are welcome to have refreshments in the Day Care Centre afterwards.
We are delighted once again this year to have the assistance of the Men’s Shed with stewarding for which we are thankful and we also thank the Red Cross who, as usual, are on hand to help.
Last weekend we had many runners taking part in the Waterford Half Marathon and this weekend we have runners taking part in a marathon in Lanzarote and Clonakilty as well as our own 5k fun run.
We are asking as many as possible to wear some Christmas hats or outfits for the Santa run and those not wishing to run the 5km can walk from the Day Care which is 4km.
Training will continue over Christmas as normal.
