Organisers of the Kickham County Weekend have announced that they will break with recent tradition, this year, as they move the festival from the end to the start of the summer.
The change has been made to allow more local young people become involved in events associated with the weekend.
The local celebration of the life and times of Charles J. Kickham will take place from the 4th to 6th May this year. The event is being brought forward from August to facilitate the participation of the children of the three primary schools in the Mullinagone area in Art, Poetry and Creative Writing competitions.
Organisation of the events is in its final stages and details will be available in the Mullinahone Parish Newsletter or from any committee member.
