Congrats to Nichola Gilmore corner back with Parnells who collected her 2nd All Ireland Intermediate Club Medal on Sunday last 9th December in Ballymore Eustace, her first coming with Brian Boru’s against St Brigids of Dublin in 2009. Nichola is also an all ireland colleges winner with Colaiste Dun Iascaigh and would have played alongside many of the opposite


The calendar is now on sale and will be available for viewing/purchase after mass in the local halls Ballylooby and Duhill for the next couple of weekends. Everyone needs a calendar for the coming year ahead and is a great way to support the local youths of Ballylooby and Duhill Parish. Calendars can also be purchased in Burkes Shop’ Ballylooby or by contacting Steven on 0857266697.

A lot work has been carried out on Tubrid Cemetery over the past year and is a huge credit to all involved. The graveyard is being tended by a Tus Scheme as well as being the focus of detailed historical research, or It is of historical significance as the burial site of many well known clergymen including Geoffrey Keating, John Brennan Archbishop of Cashel and Eugene O’Duffy. On the same site a Protestant Church completed in 1820 and functioned as a place of worship for the Church of Ireland Community until the early 1900s. Also on the site is a memorial commissioned by both denominations to Dr Valentine Flood who died of typhus contracted in the Tubrid ‘fever sheds’ during the Great Famine.

The death has occurred of William Whelan, Middle Burgess, and Ballylooby. Predeceased by the late Willie, Mickey, and Mary. We extend our sympathy to his wife Mary, daughters Frances, Ellie, Bridget, Joanie, Peg, Carmel, Clare, Clem, brothers Frank, Paudie, sisters Agnes and Marie, grandchildren, sons-in-law, extended family relatives and friends. William was laid to rest in Ballylooby Cemetery after funeral mass on Thursday, December 13. 
The death occurred of Fr Edmond Tobin, Munroe, Ballylooby, and late of Ballynamasna, late Parish Priest of Newcastle, /Fourmile- water and Ballymacarbery, brother of the late Mary Walsh, Thomas, Cannon William, David and Pat. We extend our sympathy to his sister Sr. Teresa, Convent of Mercy Dungarvan, brothers Dick and John extended family relatives and friends and Bishop Lee and fellow priests of the Diocese of /Waterford and Lismore. Fr Ned was laid to rest in Ballylooby Cemetery on Sunday last, December 16.
