Country Market

For this Easter week only we are opening on Thursday, March 28, between 9am and 12 noon in the Community Hall, behind the Post Office in Cahir. Buy your Easter buns and cakes at the market. Also available are fresh eggs, vegetables, plants and flowers. Cahir Country Market wishes their customers a Happy Easter.

Muintir na Tíre School Project

Our Lady of Mercy Primary School is currently recruiting individuals to participate in their school project. We are looking for people over the age of 75 to share their experiences of growing up in Cahir. We will be using digital equipment to record the stories of local traditions and culture. Ballingeary ICA

Our AGM will be held on Wednesday, April 3, at 8pm in Ballingeary school house. A representative from South Tipperary Federation will attend. Hostesses for our April meeting will be Angela Kennedy, Margaret O’Donnell, Elizabeth McNamara, Ita Ryan and Irene Fogarty. All are welcome to our meetings.

Easter at Farmers Market

The producers at Cahir Farmer’s Market look forward to providing a large range of locally produced foods each Saturday between 9am and 1 pm in the beautiful setting of the Castle car park. There is a good supply of fresh fish, meats, cheeses and eggs. Also at the market there are fresh fruits, juices and vegetables and to complement all this, there are two home baking stalls and locally produced cookies, jams and preserves. For something different, why not try some South African style sausages which can be cooked to order or brought home. Welcome to John Bales who has recently joined the market providing lots of colour with his lovely selection of bedding plants and shrubs.

Animal Welfare

Cake Sale and Unwanted Gift Sale will take place on Sunday, April 7, in the Community Hall, to help animal rescue centres in their growing fight against animal cruelty. If you have an unwanted gift, or wish to bake a cake or buns please contact Eileen McLoughlin or Pat Crotty. Unfortunately this time we will be unable to accept delph or books.

Daffodil Day

Thank you to everyone who supported Daffodil Day on Friday. A special word of gratitude to all volunteers, collectors who braved the elements on the day. Easter Workshop

An Easter Workshop will take place in the Craft Granary in Cahir on Saturday, March 23. This is a parent and child workshop and costs just €5 per person. Times are 11am to 1pm and all are welcome to come along and take part. Please book in advance to avoid disappointment by calling 0527441473.

Promoting Cahir Group Say Thank You

Patrick O’Donovan, Chairman of the Promoting Cahir Group and Tina Looby, organisers of this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade would like to thank all those who took part in the recent parade and made it the largest one ever to take place in Cahir to date. Thanks to Cahir Credit Union who generously sponsored prizes, An Garda Siochana whose help is invaluable, Gerry Duffy, the incomparable compere, DJ Will for the upbeat music, Grangemore Landscapes for the stage, Andy Moloney for help with stewarding, Murty Cashman, who always keeps an eye on everything and anyone else who helped in any way, thank you to you all.

Woodview Residents

A 50/50 Draw will now take place every Saturday at 1pm in Woodview Community House in Cahir. Everyone is welcome to attend and participate in the draw. There will also be tea and coffee on the day.
