Over 60 Christmas tree display places have been allocated already to a diverse group of Nenagh’s charities, businesses, churches and individuals for the town’s frst ever Christmas Tree Festival in St Mary’s Church of Ireland.
As well as the produce stall, the quiz sheets, the raffle and the delicious refreshments - including afternoon tea served from 2.30pm to 5.30pm - the organisers have scheduled various musical and worship events, including carols from Nenagh Town Band, Compline by Candlelight, carols from the church’s junior choir, organ music and a special Blue Christmas service. These will take place at different times throughout the festival, some during festival hours and some from 8pm. A full programme of events will be issued in December.
The organisers are urging people to come along, enjoy the event and support Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind and all the local exhibitors.
The festival runs from Sunday, December 14, to Sunday, December 21, from 2pm to 8pm, with official opening on Saturday, December 13, at 6.30pm. Admission will be €3 per person, with children (accompanied by an adult) free.
