The Boil Water Notice on the Newport Public Water Supply in Tipperary has been lifted with immediate effect, Uisce Éireann has said in a statement.
The company made the decision following consultation with the Health Service Executive and are alerting customers on this supply to now resume normal use of their water following consistent satisfactory sampling results.
The Boil Water Notice was issued last week (28 January) to protect the health of approximately 8,000 customers due to a deterioration in raw water quality following extensive and heavy rainfall which impacted treatment at the plant.
