An investment of €108,000 under the Outdoor Recreation Fund has been announced to enhance the very popular Lough Doire Bhile amenity which is located just off the Littleton-Glengoole bog road beside the Bord na Móna Lanespark bog.

The funding will be spent on improving access and upgrading the surroundings.

Michael Lowry TD welcomed the announcement saying: "Already one of the most popular recreational locations in the region, a large number of visitors enjoy the walks and savour the peace and tranquillity of the environment.

"These additional works will provide a fully accessible amenity area that can be enjoyed by every member of the public. They will add to the enjoyment of the many people who use the amenity on a regular basis."
