WATCH: 'For God's sake,' Micheál Martin reacts to question about being available to media

Tánaiste Micheál Martin was in Tipperary over the weekend

"For God's sake," was Tánaiste Micheál Martin's reaction to a question about him and his Government party members being available to the media.

The Fianna Fáil leader was in south Tipperary on Saturday last doing the rounds in Clonmel with South Tipperary General Election candidate Imelda Goldsboro.

The Fianna Fáil party gave The Nationalist and Tipperary Star an opportunity to speak with the Tánaiste.

This interview opportunity came after several high profile visits by Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil party members to Tipperary - including Minister for Finance Jack Chambers - where the local media were not invited or made aware of the visits.

A number of op-eds were written in The Nationalist and Tipperary Star which criticised the Government parties for not allowing the media to have access to their senior Government members when in the Premier County.

The Tánaiste was asked on Saturday about this accessibility issue and if it related to a General Election looming and he said he could not speak for others but that he is always available for the media.
