Tipperary's Festival on the Suir was another great success over the bank holiday weekend

Festival on the Suir took place in Golden GAA club over the June bank holiday
Festival on the Suir 2026 proved to be a resounding success, with four days of fine weather and strong attendances helping to create a memorable weekend of community celebration in Golden.
The festival got underway on Wednesday evening with a Kiddies Disco featuring Mickey, Minnie and Minion, which proved hugely popular with local children and families.
Thursday night's Drive-In Bingo at the GAA grounds attracted a large crowd, with the event generating such enthusiasm that many attendees expressed hopes of seeing it return more regularly in the future.

A highlight of the festival was Friday evening's Festival Field Evening, which drew a massive attendance to the GAA grounds. Visitors enjoyed a packed programme of entertainment, including a Dog Show, Dunk Tank, Juvenile Blitz, barbecue and the ever-popular Tug of War competition. Thomastown/Kilfeacle emerged victorious in the tug of war showdown after a keenly contested event.
One of the new attractions this year was the Country Market, held in the festival marquee. Featuring 30 exhibitors, the market offered visitors a wide variety of products and crafts to browse. Organisers reported that stallholders were delighted with the turnout and many have already indicated their intention to return next year.

The Festival Auction also proved highly successful, with 72 trailers of timber sold, along with coal. Excitement continued with the Festival Draw, held in Toohey's, where seven lucky winners claimed prizes.
The festival concluded with Songo Music Bingo in the GAA complex, providing a lively and entertaining finale to a busy weekend of events.
Organisers have extended their sincere thanks to everyone who supported the festival, including volunteers, sponsors, participants and attendees. Their continued support is greatly appreciated and helps ensure the ongoing success of both the festival and the local GAA club.
