Tipperary Education and Training Board organised a ‘Walk & Talk’ event to celebrate AONTAS Adult Learners Festival on Wednesday, March 6, starting at the FET (Further Education and Training) campus on Dillon Street.
This year theme was ‘Everyday learning Spaces – Find yourself here’.
The onsite gym was a hive of activity as over 100 adult learners and staff, gathered together to celebrate the national event. The event celebrated diversity and promoted a healthy lifestyle – walking, conversation, fruit and water.
The participating learners are engaged in a variety of classes in Clonmel and surrounding towns, and at different levels such as Adult Literacy (reading, writing, numeracy and digital skills), Men’s Shed, Women’s Groups, Cailini Le Chéile (Cahir Women’s Shed), ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages), Childcare, Healthcare and Horticulture – to name a few.
We commenced our morning with an energetic warm up to music and then we set off for our annual walk along the beautiful Suir Blueway.
Thanks to everyone involved in this event.
