Watch Christmas memories: RTE record Christmas radio programme in Nenagh Castle

Christmas memories from around Nenagh will feature on RTE Radio1 this Christmas Eve.

The programme, which was recorded in Nenagh Castle last weekend, will feature local author and broadcaster Damien Lawlor; former Miss Ireland Niamh Kennedy from Portroe; Bernadine Maloney, head of corporate affairs at the ESB and writer and broadcaster Cormac McConnell from Killaloe.

They were joined in the audience by local writer and novelist Marjorie Quarton.

Also featuring in the programme will be the all-women choir from Cloughjordan, the Mellowtones, under the baton of Liz Power.

Each had their own special memories, some funny, some sad, as they recalled their Christmas growing up and the influence it had on their lives.

The programme was recorded by another local broadcaster and journalist, award winning Morning Ireland reporter Cian McCormack from Nenagh.

The programme will be aired on December 24 at 1pm.
