County Tipperary Chamber CEO, Michelle Aylward said the tariffs create "uncertainty" for members
A Tipperary business representative body has expressed concerns about the tariffs imposed on the European Union by US President Donald Trump.
President Trump imposed a 20% tariff on all imports from the EU into America, a move that will have "very real impacts" on businesses in Tipperary, it has been said.
County Tipperary Chamber have expressed concern about the imposition of the US tariffs on EU imports, saying that while there is a lot of uncertainty about how the tariffs will impact their members, many of which operate in the manufacturing, agri-food, and internationally traded services sectors.
County Tipperary Chamber CEO Michelle Aylward said that "while the full impact remains to be seen, this news creates understandable uncertainty for our members.

"Our role is to ensure businesses in Tipperary are supported, informed, and represented. Government must move quickly to provide supports, protect jobs, and help businesses access new markets," Ms Aylward added.
County Tipperary Chamber say that they stand with Chambers Ireland in calling for a calm, coordinated EU response that protects market access, avoids escalation, and prioritises long-term competitiveness.
The Chamber are also calling for additional resources for state agencies and export supports, targeted relief for affected sectors to manage cash flow and safeguard employment, accelerated delivery of key infrastructure projects in our region, and continued investment in education, skills, and trade diversification.

"Tipperary businesses have always shown incredible resilience,” Ms Aylward added.
“But what’s needed now is action—not delay. We are here to help our members navigate these challenges, and we will continue to advocate at every level to ensure your needs are heard," the Chamber CEO said.
