Following the runaway international success of ‘Forgotten’ and ‘Silent’ Fishamble Theatre Company brings Pat Kinevane’s third solo play ‘Underneath’ to the Nenagh Arts Centre on Sunday, March 15th.

This stunning new play is a blackly comic, rich and vivid tale of a life lived in secret, a testament to the people who live on the fringes and right under the nose of everyday life.

Playing the central character, a woman struck by lightning as a girl whose life is subsequently shaped by disfigurement, Kinevane said that the idea for the piece was influenced by “the growing obsession in the world with the aesthetic of beauty”.

Kinevane employs his incredible physical presence and lilting Cork voice to bring this drama to life. Poetic asides are combined with an stand-up comedy-like irreverence as the plot unfurls. This is a rich theatrical piece - a gothic comedy.

‘Underneath’ plays at Nenagh Arts Centre at 8pm on Sunday, March 15th. Tickets are priced at €15 - call 067 34400 or visit www.nenagharts.com.

Don’t forget that the Town Hall Cinema presents a public interview with Cork film director Pat Collins at 8pm on Thursday, March 5th. Admission is €5 per person. Booking on 067 34400 or nenagharts.com.
