The elderly motorcyclist who died tragically in a traffic accident in Cahir on Sunday morning has been named locally as Martin 'Monty' Power, who was from Gaile near Holycross.
Mr Power, who was aged in his 70s, died after the motorcycle he was driving was involved in a collision with a van on the N24 at Cahir at approximately 11.05am yesterday, September 21. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
No other injuries were reported.

Independent Cllr Andy Moloney from Poulmucka near Cahir said the entire community in Cahir was shocked and saddened to learn of another tragic road death in their area and extended sympathy on behalf of the people of the town and its hinterland to the Power family. "Our thoughts are with the family of the deceased," he said.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 10.45am and 11.15am on Sunday are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.

Investigations into the accident are ongoing.
