Tickets are now on sale in Cahir House Hotel (052) 7443000 for Cahir Social and Historical Society's ‘Summer Festival at the Castle’.
This exciting programme will feature modern Irish history, the works of William Shakespeare, the pop/ electronic/ jazz duo "Zrazy" and the first professional performance of the rising operatic star Jennifer Davis in her hometown.
The Festival will open on Friday, July 6, with a lecture by David McCullough, broadcaster (‘Prime Time’) and historian. The lecture based on his recent work, "The Rise of De Valera, 1882 - 1932". Admission is €10.
Chattyboo Productions will perform "Will's Women" on Friday and Saturday, July 13 and 14, and take you through some of Shakespeare's works as we have never seen them before! Admission is €15.
A daughter of Cahir, Maria Walsh (Tipperary Road) is a member of the musical duo "Zrazy" who will combine pop and electronic elements with jazz in the Great Hall on July 20. Admission is €15.
The Festival will close with two performances by Jennifer Davis, July 27 and 28, in the Great Hall, Cahir Castle. Admission €20.
