Carrick-on-Suir Library's young chess players end their season with an awards ceremony

Carrick-on-Suir Library Children’s Chess Club finished for the season on Monday May 13 with the presentation of prizes to winners and runners up of league competitions.

The Library’s staff thank Mark Connolly for all his work with the club, from encouraging the children, providing tuition, running the leagues and  providing the trophies.

They pay tribute to all the Chess Club members for their participation all year and congratulate the winners and runners up in the league competitions.

Overall winner of the year-long chess league was Tommy Walsh. 

Results:
Knights League: 1st. Tommy Walsh, 2nd Adrian Wilk, 3rd Dylan Thomas
 

Bishops League: 1st Matthew Thomas, 2nd Clara Walsh, 3rd Oisín Fahey
 

Rooks League: 1st David McDonagh, 2nd Orla Maude, 3rd Liam Power.
