Local artists to perform at Clancy Brothers Festival's opening concert in Carrick-on-Suir

Phila Grace will be among the local singers and musicians performing at the Clancy Festival opening night concert

The line-up of performers for the Clancy Brothers Music & Arts Festival official opening night concert at Brewery Lane Theatre in Carrick features some well known local singers and musicians.

The Festival will be officially opened by Leas Cathaoirleach of Carrick-on-Suir Municipal District Cllr David Dunne at the start of the concert that kicks off at 8pm on Wednesday, May 28.

Performing at the show will be Maria O’Shea- Enright, Phila Grace, Neill Bourke, Kate de Barra, Kevin and Eileen de Paor, Emily and Mollie Foskin. Walter Dunphy will be the Master of Ceremonies and tickets cost €20.

Meanwhile, the concert by Martin Murray, Paul Grant, Suzanne Rowe and Cliodhna Gahan planned for Carrick’s Nano Nagle Community Centre at 8pm Saturday, May 31 has been cancelled due to one of the performers suffering a bereavement.

It is being replaced, however, by another show called Clancy’s Kitchen starring Roisin Clancy, Ryland Teifi, Donal Clancy and Brendan Clancy. It takes place at the Nagle Centre at the same time and date as the original concert. Tickets costs €20 and will be on sale at the door on the night.

There will be other opportunities to watch members of the talented Clancy family perform during the festival.

The Clancy Family Concert at Brewery Lane on Thursday, May 29 will feature performances from several generations of the Clancy Brothers relatives and descendants.

And Finbarr Clancy will performing with fellow members of The High Kings at the Strand Theatre on Friday, May 30 at 8pm.

Another festival highlight will be The Henry Girls concert at Brewery Lane at 8pm on Sunday, June 1.
