Carrick-on-Suir's New Street will close at night from October 6 to 19 to facilitate the repair and replacement of water mains

Council to close Carrick-on-Suir town centre street at night for close to two weeks

Tipperary County Council has made an order to temporarily close the R676 New Street in Carrick-on-Suir at night for close to two weeks in October to facilitate the repair and replacement of water mains.

The street will close at night from 7pm to 6am from Monday, October 6 to Sunday, October 19.

For all HGV’s travelling East to West, Diversions will be detailed and signed along the N24 and R-680 from Fiddown.

The New Street Junction with N24, the alternate route will be along the N24 to Kilsheelan and back on the R-680 to Dillon Bridge.

For all HGVs travelling from West to East, Diversions will be detailed and signed along the N24 and R-680 from Kilsheelan. The New St. Junction with the N24, the alternate route will be along the N24 to Fiddown and back on the R-680 to Dillon Bridge.

For local traffic, not exceeding 3.5t, the diversion route will be along the N24 westward to North Quay and back along North Quay to Castle Lane/Callanan's Lane and on to Castle Street.

The project to repair and replacement of water mains on the street will include the reinstatement of the carriageway, footpaths and verges where required.
