The 19-year-old Ballyneale man charged with murdering Ian Walsh in Carrick-on-Suir in August, was granted bail following his appearance at Clonmel District Court today (Tuesday, September 23).
Nathan Hanlon of No. 1 Castle View, Ballyneale was remanded on bail by Judge Cephas Power to appear before the court again on October 21 after the person approved at today's court hearing to act as the accused man’s surety lodged €7,500 with the court.
This follows the issuing of a High Court order giving consent for bail to be granted to Mr Hanlon subject to the approval of a surety and compliance with a number of bail conditions set by that court.
Mr Hanlon, who is charged with the murder of Ian Walsh at Ravenswood, Cregg Road, Carrick-on-Suir on August 2, had been in custody since his first court appearance last month.
After the approval of the surety at today's court sitting, Judge Power granted Sgt. Tom O’Brien’s request to adjourn the case to Clonmel District Court on Tuesday, October 21 for provision of the DPP’s directions.
