AMAZING! Two Tipperary students receive top marks in Leaving Certificate exams

Rockwell College students are among the 65,444 students across Ireland receiving their Leaving Certificate results today, the largest Leaving Cert cohort in almost three decades.

Among the many successes, two students achieved perfect scores.

Luke O’Brien Peterson, a boarding student from Waterford, secured 7 H1s and 625 points, while Kevin Kelly, a day student, achieved 625 points with 6 H1s.

Their accomplishments are a testament to their dedication over six years at Rockwell College.

Overall, Rockwell students performed strongly, with 10% of the year group achieving 600 points or higher and 50% attaining 500 points or more.

Above all, the school says they celebrate the effort, character, and success of every student in the Class of 2025.

This year’s results nationally have seen fewer top marks as the Department of Education begins to phase out the grade inflation of recent years.

Against that backdrop, Rockwell students can take particular pride in their achievements, which reflect both their own commitment and the dedication of our teachers and support staff.

In a year marked by deep sadness, their Leaving Certificate students showed remarkable strength — supporting one another while continuing to focus on their studies.

Their resilience has been rewarded with a strong set of outcomes across the year group.

Principal Audrey O’Byrne commented: “Both I and all the staff of Rockwell College are incredibly proud of the Class of 2025 today, not only for their achievements in the Leaving Certificate, but for their dedication to and support for each other. We wish them every success in this next stage of their learning and their lives.”

Students receiving their results today are supported by Guidance Counsellor Edel O’Callaghan, who is available to discuss CAO options, and Chaplain Dr Aisling Mulherin, who is on hand should any student need pastoral support.
