Congratulations to Dr. Niall Gregory, who was recently elected to the Presidium of the Charter of European Rural Communities.

The vote took place on Saturday, June 16, in Altes Kloster Hotel, Hainburg (near Vienna).

Dr Gregory told us he is honoured to have been elected, adding he is delighted that Cashel now has representation at the heart of the Charter and that he is looking forward to getting more deeply involved with the work of the presidium.

Cashel is the Irish representative town to the Charter, a unique organisation in Europe, one which is centred on European Citizenship within small rural communities. As a collective of rural communities representing each EU country, the Presidium provides a strong and representative voice for all European citizens.
