'We'll have the car washed for that day,' Clonmel gardaí celebrate Olympic medal win

Tipperary gardaí are joining the celebration of Daire Lynch and Philip Doyle's Olympic bronze medal win in Paris.

They posted on social media:

"Great day in Clonmel this morning to watch the Final & the RESULT!
Gardaí in Clonmel are already looking forward to the homecoming..... we'll have the car washed for that day

"Congratulations to Daire Lynch & Philip Doyle on a great race.

"There are some Gardaí over in Paris for the Olympics who will be happy to advise about keeping your newly earned property safe.

"Here's wishing all the athletes & competitors more success & a great games."

Daire Lynch and Philip Doyle won a bronze medal in the Men's Heavyweight Double Sculls at the Olympic Games on Thursday.
