Two Tipperary TDs have been chosen to chair Oireachtas committees.
Tipperary South Deputy Michael Murphy (Fine Gael) will chair the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport.

Meanwhile, Tipperary North TD Alan Kelly (Labour) will head up the Oireachtas Committee on Arts, Media and Communications.

The process of allocating the committees to political parties and groups was delayed for over four months because of disagreements related to speaking rights in the Dáil.
It's understood that it could be weeks before the committees are fully up and running, although they are essential to the formulation and the passing of legislation.
