Alternative rock band the Charcoal Greys (pictured) will perform at Whelan's, the iconic Dublin venue, supporting Bowden next month
It's been quite the week for up-and-coming Tipperary alternative rock band Charcoal Greys, who are set to make a huge career milestone next month when they take to the stage at Whelan's in Dublin.
The five-piece, who have amassed no less than half a million likes on TikTok from nearly 10,000 loyal followers.
After announcing to their fans earlier this week that the music video for their newest single, Muddy Shoes, is nearing release, they then revealed the incredible news that they will support alt-rock Cork outfit Bowden at Whelan's on October 28.

Muddy Shoes has been well received by fans and new listeners alike, with Charcoal Greys regularly enjoying thousands of views on TikTok of them lip syncing to the song at various locations around Clonmel.

The band’s popularity and reputation is rapidly growing in the local music scene, and Muddy Shoes is well on its way to being streamed over 10,000 times, much like their previous single Sober which was released in April of this year.
Charcoal Greys played their first gig not 18 months ago. Lead singer is 20-year-old Emily O'Keeffe from Whitechurch, Owning near Carrick-on-Suir and she is joined by three of her cousins.
They are guitarist Luke Boland from Grangemockler, the band’s oldest member at 31 years-old, and brothers Zach and Sam O’Keeffe from Figlash, Carrick-on-Suir. Guitarist and back-up singer Zach is aged 17 and drummer Sam is aged 16 and completed his Junior Cert exams only last week. They are both students of Edmund Rice Secondary School in Carrick-on-Suir.
Charcoal Grey’s fifth and newest musician is bass guitarist Killian Wierczynski from Clonmel, who has been embraced by his bandmates as an “honorary cousin”. He has performed gigs with the band since February.
