The glass panels in the bridge at the Old Bridge in Clonmel were vandalised some years ago
A preferred option to replace the vandalised glass panels on the “dry bridge” at the Old Bridge in Clonmel is being considered by Tipperary County Council and the Office of Public Works (OPW).
In a report to a meeting of Clonmel Borough District, District Engineer Gillian Flynn stated that a number of considerations need to be taken into account, such as safety, aesthetics and maintenance.
Further details would be provided once the assessment is complete.

She said that if replacement glass panels were installed, they could end up in a similar condition.
The Mayor, Pat English, had requested that the vandalised glass panels on the bridge would be replaced.

He also requested that the “unsightly overgrowth” on either side of the bridge would be removed.
He hoped that the panels would be replaced in the near future.
