The barrier at Marlfield Lake that was erected to protect the swans’ nest
Once again the staff from Clonmel Borough District have come to the rescue by erecting a protective security barrier around the nest of the swans that are hatching right on the edge of Marlfield Lake, near Clonmel.
The Marlfield Tidy Towns Committee is requesting dog walkers to not let their dogs bark or jump up on the barrier, because if the swans abandon their nest the part-incubated eggs will die.
Marlfield Lake supports a large population of water birds including swans and ducks.
