Artists acknowledge the work being carried out by Cuan Saor Refuge services

Random Artists Tipperary South is a recently formed group open to artists in Clonmel and the surrounding areas.

It was founded by Eoin De Leaster and David Anchell in November 2022.

The group has a large variety of artists, ranging from painters to fine art painters,a sculpture artists and visual artists and those who work primarily in 3D. They use a variety of inspirations and mediums.

The group meet usually monthly for their official meetings and plan/prepare for upcoming events.

Every second meeting is in their local pub, Phil Carroll’s, for a different kind of meeting.

A social, relaxed chat about current projects they are working on individually as well as ones they are collaborating on. And enjoying a pint while doing so.

Now in 2025, they have a total of 49 artists in the group. They have exhibited in the last two When Next We Meet festivals, and will be taking part again this coming June.

They hosted their first public R.A.T.S exhibition in Clonmel Library in May 2024, showcasing the wide range of styles and talents within the group.

This was followed by an exhibition in the Museum of Hidden History in May/June 2024, where artists created works in response to the museum’s permanent collection.

They are currently planning an exciting international exhibition in Chioggia, Italy — just south of Venice — which will take place this September.

VITAL WORK

To celebrate their 2nd birthday, the R.A.T.S group recently gathered at The Emperor Chinese Restaurant for a celebratory meal while also donating €1,000 in aid of Cuan Saor Women's Refuge in Clonmel.

The group were proud to give back to the local community and support the vital work of Cuan Saor.

David Anchell, Managing Director of Camida and a founding member of R.A.T.S. said the g roup were delighted to support the good work being carried out by Cuan Saor.

“The services Cuan Saor provide are vital. They open the door to people who are desperate and are in great distress.

It is important that women experiencing difficulty and who need refuge know where to go for safety and support,” he said.
