Theft and related offences made up the largest share of crimes reported in the Tipperary Garda Division in quarter four of last year, new figures show.
The figures, released this week by the Central Statistics Office (CSO), show that there were 349 recorded incidents of theft and related offences in the last quarter of 2024.
This was followed by public order and other social code offences, with 234 recorded incidents, followed by 206 recorded incidents of damage to property and the environment and 203 incidents of disorderly conduct.

There were nine recorded incidents of robbery, extortion and hijacking offences, eight incidents of fireworks offences, six social code offences (not elsewhere classified), six for blackmail or extortion, five for other drug offences, four liquor licensing offences, four for endangerment with potential for serious harm or death.
There were three recorded incidents of theft from a person, three for robbery from the person, and a further three for driving or being in charge of a vehicle under the influence of drugs.

There was one recorded incidence of kidnapping and related offences, one for false imprisonment, one for cultivation or manufacture of drugs, one for explosives or chemical weapons offences, and one for possession of a firearm.
