RIP: Tributes paid to Tipperary mother of five who passed away recently

Norah Teresa (Kennedy) McGinn, 80, of Norwood, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.

Born in Tipperary, she was the daughter of the late John Kennedy and Norah (Joyce) Kennedy.

Beloved wife of the late John McGinn, she is predeceased by her precious infant daughter, Treacy.

She is treasured and missed dearly by her children Jacintha Murphy, Katherine Burke, Marcella Arch, and Sean McGinn.

Loved by her sons-in-law Paul Burke and James Murray, and daughter-in-law Alana McGinn.

Sadly missed by her beloved grandchildren Hannah Murphy, Emma Murphy, Cassie Burke, Lucy Arch, John McGinn, and step-granddaughter Emma Murray.

Cherished sister of Barbara and John of Tipperary.

She leaves behind her devoted cat, Tarzan, who was always by her side and brought a quiet comfort with an authoritarian flair.

She is predeceased by her loving brothers and sisters Betty, Maura, Mickey, Brenda, Jude, and Martin.

Fondly remembered by her extended family, many nieces and nephews, friends, carers and the kindest neighbors.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 14, at 12:30pm in St Macartan's (Forth Chapel) Catholic Church, Springtown Road, Augher, County Tyrone.

Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Tributes have been paid to Norah Teresa online, with one person saying: "Sincere sympathy to the Barbara and John and all the Kennedy & McGinn families on the sad passing of Teresa. May her gentle soul rest in peace."

Another said: "Sincere sympathy to Teresa's family brother John Sister Barbara on the passing of such a kind and caring lady may she rest in peace."
