Amid mounting anger among Offaly fans over the shortage of tickets for this Saturday's All Ireland U20 Final, an online petition has been launched to try and change the venue for the game.

The petition on change.org simply says that the venue for the All Ireland U20 Hurling Final between Offaly and Tipp should be changed to a more suitable venue due to lack of capacity and the condition of the pitch in Kilkenny. You can CLICK HERE to add your name to the petition that appears to have been launched this afternoon.

Nowlan Park was chosen as the venue to mark the 100th anniversary of the death of James Nowlan who the stadium is named after.

He was a former President of the GAA and the All-Ireland U-20 hurling cup is named in his honour. It has a capacity of just 27,000 and the pitch is reportedly in bad condition after a recent Bruce Springsteen concert.

However with tickets on sale on line selling out in under 20 minutes and a large number of fans left without, anger is mounting at the decision to host the game in a venue with such a limited capacity.

Offaly fans have been venting their frustration on social media platforms.

"Limerick would have been ideal for it. 44 thousand capacity."

"It should be moved I know a man at all of the games has no tickets what a shame"

"Ridiculous self serving and selfish decision to have this in Nowlan Park"

"should be in Thurles regardless of home preference, great pitch in the home of hurling"

"They can't get enough supporters a some venues and when they get to many they can't sort it out bad form."

"The Offaly under 20 team is probably the best supported underage team in the county and there is people not going to go to watch them on Saturday because they can't get ticket. The same probably for tipp hurling people. Which ever team wins probably won't be able to have a Homecoming until Sunday due to the 7.15 start. Family,s won't be able to keep up Small kids until 12 or 1 in the morning. I was lucky enough to get tickets but feel sorry for anybody who can't"
