Tipperary star Pádraic Maher
Laochra Gael's new season is set to showcase eight Irish sport legends like Tipperary star Pádraic Maher.
The new 23rd season will air on January 23rd at 9:30pm and will be available to watch every Thursday onwards.
Uachtarán CLG, Jarlath Burns said: “I warmly welcome the announcement of yet another series of Laochra Gael showcasing as it does some of the greatest players from the wider Gaelic games family. TG4 and Nemeton’s support of our games has been one of the hallmarks of its success story and it is something we value highly."
The series will give viewers eight "gripping personal storylines," from Irish sport stars "that will compel viewers to travel towards territory unique to the GAA television landscape," TG4 said.
The first episode of the series will open with Pádraic Maher, one of Tipperary’s greatest-ever hurlers and one of the most dominant centre backs of the game.
Viewers will learn more about Mr Maher and his retirement from the game he loved after he suffered a neck injury.
