On the doorsteps housing and health are the two major topics of conversation for canvassers, according to Tipperary North Green Party candidate, Iva Pocock.

Building new houses in villages and towns across the area is a key priority for Iva should she be elected.

Online her ten ideas for a better Ireland have been met with a positive reaction in the lead up to the election.

One that has received a lot of feedback is “Cost Rental Housing” which was introduced by the Greens and can help many in Tipperary live well locally.

Another area Iva is focused on is transport and ensuring there are adequate links between towns and villages as, apart from the Local Link in places, getting around is difficult without an automobile.

The overdependence on cars has caused an imbalance nationwide affecting quality of life in terms of health issues, cleaner living and other areas.

“Ensuring that people have a real alternative with regular buses and trains” is part of her policy reform.

Biodiversity is hugely important too and ensuring there is a better future with abundant wildlife is important to Iva. Saving the Suir and ensuring the Tipperary waterway is clean of pollutants is a highly noble plan.
