'We need to prepare for flooding, drought and extreme weather events,' says Tipp candidate

The campaign trail has taken Green Party candidate for Tipperary North Iva Pocock right across the county and this candidate offers a new voice in the hope of a better future.

Traditionally Green Party candidates have faced the stronger more established party candidates and faltered on election day.

Hopes are high of change this year as the Green Party looks to build on recent achievements.

Climate issues keep cropping up on doorsteps: “We need to do everything possible to prevent catastrophic climate chaos. This means radically cutting our carbon emissions,” she said adding “we need to prepare for flooding, drought and extreme weather events like we’ve seen in Valencia, Spain”.
