New mural pops up as many families have connections going back generations to the railway

A mural in Oola which was commissioned by Oola Tidy Towns

Renowned Tipperary mural artist, Neil O'Dwyer, has just recently completed a wonderful mural in Oola for the local Tidy Towns group.

Many local families have connections going back generations to the railway which runs adjacent to the village, and this is a key aspect of the mural.

The grazing cows and milk churns that are featured represent the importance of agriculture in the area, and Oola Castle is also shown in the background.

It is the second mural by Neil in the village as there is one there celebrating local Senior Hurling All-Ireland heroes at James & Orla O'Donovan's Londis Shop.

Just up the road at Limerick Junction there is a mural of Ireland's legendary jockey Rachael Blackmore at MJ Buckley's Gastrobar & Guesthouse.

Situated across the road from Tipperary Racecourse, this was an ideal location to illustrate and pay tribute to County Tipperary's first (and only) woman to win the Aintree Grand National.

As an artist with many years experience, Neil has worked on all types of murals and paintings for hotels, restaurants, pubs, sports clubs, heritage & tidy towns groups, business premises, leisure centres and private homes.

Much of his work has also appeared in the national press and on TV.
